Connecticut Magazine named Attorney John Logan as a "Super Lawyer" in the practice areas of Plaintiff's Personal Injury, Criminal Law and Family Law. This 2006 publication names Attorney Logan as the only lawyer in Torrington, Connecticut to receive this honor.
In the Fall of 2003, we moved into over 3000 square feet of new office space on East Main Street in Torrington. The new facilities are completely handicap accessible with new computer and phone systems.
In September, 2004, Attorney Mencuccini represented a driver accused of operating under the influence and attained a defendant's verdict through a jury trial.
On July 1, 2004, Attorney Logan became the Treasurer of the Connecticut Bar Association and a member of its Executive Committee.
In 2003, we tried the case of Wilson v. Kent Realty, LLC, to a jury verdict of over a half million dollars in Litchfield Superior Court. A slip and fall action, the case presented various legal and factual questions, and settled while on appeal.
Attorney Logan has argued many appeals before the State’s Supreme and Appellate Courts. He successfully convinced the Connecticut Supreme Court to expand the concept of "wrongful termination" to employees fired because they refused to perform hazardous work beyond the original scope of their employment. A landmark case, Parsons v. United Technologies, 243 Conn. 66 (1997), was widely reported both throughout the nation’s print media and legal community. For some other Appellate cases handled by Attorney Logan see:
- Klug v. Inland Wetlands, 30 Conn. App. 85 (1993)
- Coscina v. Coscina, 24 Conn. App. 190 (1991)
- Johnson v. Fuller, 190 Conn. 552 (1983)
- Town of West Hartford v. Rechel, 190 Conn. 114 (1983)
