An honors graduate of Western New England College School of Law, he also was a member of the school’s law review. His trial experience includes being lead counsel in trials involving medical malpractice, product liability, automobile accidents, divorce, custody, will contests, criminal law, juvenile law, building contracts, employment law, property disputes, zoning and inland wetlands appeals. He successfully convinced the Supreme Court to expand the concept of "wrongful termination" to employees fired because they refused to perform hazardous work beyond the original scope of their employment. He co-founded a charitable golf outing which in a little over 20 years has raised nearly 1 million dollars. He is a member and past treasurer of the Avon Democratic Town Committee. He is a past chair and past treasurer of the Torrington Democratic Town Committee, a past member of the Torrington Ethics Commission, a past member of the Avon Inland Wetlands Commission and a former member of the adjunct faculty at Northwest Community College teaching political science.
